Fellow AMD Members,
It was announced at the Association of Millwork Distributors 50th Annual Convention, during the Opening General Session, that in the spring of 2015, AMD will launch a name change for the organization to World Millwork Alliance. The intention of the name change is to reflect a new vision for our Association. One that is more inclusive of the millwork community, increases the understanding of what the Association represents and its relevancy in the millwork industry. The AMD Board of Directors proposed the name change which was unanimously approved at the Distributor Business Meeting on October 20, 2014.
In 2013, the AMD Board of Directors was charged to develop a comprehensive strategic plan that would cultivate our membership, promote our association within our industry and provide resources which meet today's business needs. Over the next three years, numerous strategic plan initiatives are on the forefront for the association to strengthen the millwork community by helping our member companies grow and prosper. AMD Past President, Nathan Potter, addressed convention attendees stating, “We realized that in today’s world, we need to be in the business of building our members’ businesses. We must be their ally and foster alliances between members.”
While we honor the past, we must look to the future. Our plan of action is to introduce new, forward-thinking programs and strategies that will fundamentally change the way you interact with us and other members. We are excited about what’s to come including a new website in 2015 that will provide a networking platform for our members and the next generation.
