Welcome! It is no surprise that AMD was able to deal with the Nashville floods and swiftly switch tracks and announce that the 46th Annual Convention will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2010. Over a span of 45 years, The Association of Millwork Distributors has consistently delivered outstanding annual events. Once again, AMD set forth to provide members with a guarantee that this event would equal the previous 45 Conventions, with a reputation built on the highest quality exhibits, education and ample networking opportunities.

Totally attuned to challenges of our industry and listening to the voice of our members, last year AMD stepped out of the box and provided members with new dynamic registration incentives that encouraged attendance yet provided savings. This was extremely popular with attendees and it has been implemented again this year.

The new Convention program incorporates innovative ideas that elevate our convention to a greater value. Education sessions will be in a one day format, and the schedule flows with topics that are critical and timely. As always, the speaker line-up is exceptional. Distribution and sales challenges, cutting-edge sales techniques, staffing for the millennium as well as Energy Star will all open new doors of discovery to members. The agenda will also feature a special presentation about the AMD Certification Program, including the new fire rating.

The Program Committee is especially excited about the new "Main Street" concept in the exhibit hall and a special aisle featuring new member products. The new two-day Exhibit Hall schedule offers more exhibit hall hours than in the past years. Ample time for networking and entertaining are provided. We have added a Closing Reception in the Exhibit Hall on the final day, and I look forward to seeing everyone there.

I invite you to join us in Charlotte as members meet in the camaraderie of good friends coming together to share experiences and prepare for the future markets.

Be proud of your association and join us in Charlotte so we can have a GREAT Convention together.

Audrey Dyer

Annual Convention Program Committee Chair

Credit Unions Can Do More Small Business Lending, Cheney Says
Congress should raise the lending limits for credit unions because it would help small businesses and create jobs, said Bill Cheney, president and chief executive officer of the Credit Union National Association. “Credit unions are lending but they can do a lot more,” said Cheney, 50, in an interview at Bloomberg’s New York office. He became CUNA’s head earlier this month. Read Newsletter >>>

AMD Changes Gears and Exhibitors Keep Momentum
Although the AMD 46th Annual Convention relocated its show to the city of Charlotte in North Carolina due to the flooding disaster in Nashville, AMD Manufacturer Exhibitors offered incredible support to AMD and commitment to bring their products and services to the Charlotte Convention Center.
