the Award Last October in Orlando, Florida an announcement was made that, the Association of Millwork Distributors wanted to honor the memory of Ron Taylor who served as an officer of the Association and who passed away during his term as First Vice President. Ron would be honored by the creation of an award recognizing the highest values, integrity and character that our industry and Association represented. The award would be open to all Association members who have given service to AMD by serving on committees or at the Board level. An AMD committee chaired by Dan Warren and members Don Houghton, John Kerr, Brian McIlwee, Carl Detering, John Bradberry, Nick Carter and David McGraw sought nominations of AMD members who illustrated a committed leadership involvement and contribution to family, friends, community, employer and industry. The nominations were to have included examples of how the nominee met the criteria and provide details of the nominee’s accomplishments. What better way to honor the man, Ron Taylor, who touched many lives than to recognize others in within the Association of Millwork Distributors who share similar attributes of connection, commitment and contribution. The inaugural presentation of the Ron Taylor Award of Integrity and Commitment is captured in this special AMD publication as we come together blessed to have two individuals who have set sterling examples of an attitude comprised of those three key components – connection, commitment and contribution. Please share this unique collection of photographs, quotes and fond memories of the 2004 AMD recipients of the Ron Taylor Award of Integrity and Commitment Mr. Ned Guilbeau, and to be posthumously awarded to Darrell Rice. It is truly a fitting tribute to not only Ned and Darrell but to those whose lives they touched.
